How to get help
Questions are fastest in Discord. Software bugs belong on GitHub; orders, hardware faults and anything private come by email. If you pick the wrong one, don't worry: I'll point it the right way.
Questions
Pairing, print settings, compatibility questions. Someone in there has usually hit it already, and answers arrive in hours rather than days.
Software bugs
Firmware, the updater, or something wrong in the guide. Filed as an issue it stays visible, and someone other than me can pick it up and fix it.
Orders and faults
Anything with an order number on it, hardware that is dead or damaged, and anything you would rather not post in a public room.
Realistically: I read every email. Most get a reply within a few days; if I am mid-build it can stretch to a week. If a week goes by with nothing, send it again. The odds strongly favour me having lost it over me having ignored you.
What I can help with, and what I can't
Usually worth asking about
- A board that arrived dead, or died on its own
- Pairing trouble, and updates that stop partway. A failed flash is not a dead board; the updater reconnects and resumes, and I will help you recover one that is stuck
- Fitting questions, whether or not you bought the board here
- A shell that does not close, or screws missing from the bag
- Anything I got wrong on the order
Often no
- Console faults that turn out not to be Pulsar. I cannot debug your Dreamcast by email
- Hosts I do not own, though I will happily put the question to the Discord with you
- Board damage from fitting. Email me anyway; replacement parts may be the simplest answer
- New firmware features on request. Open an issue and it joins the list, honestly ranked
When it lands in the second column I will say so plainly rather than leave you waiting on a fix that is not coming. If something I sold has a genuine fault, email me with the order number and what it is doing.
