What I hold, and who else sees it

• Your order. The name, postal address and email address you give at checkout stay with your order on this server, as the record of the sale and so I can fulfil it. Tax authorities take a view on how long records of sales are kept. When your parcel goes out, I send you one tracking email through Resend, a mail processor, which receives your email address and the contents of that message in order to deliver it.
• Payment is Stripe's. Checkout runs on Stripe's own pages, and card numbers never touch this site or its server.
• The carrier gets your address. It goes on the parcel, which is the whole point of a parcel.
• The mailing list, only if you typed your address into it. That lives with Buttondown. It is used only for a store-opening or checkout-return announcement; it is not an ongoing marketing list. Every email it sends carries an unsubscribe link that works.
• Server logs. Every request is written down: the time, the page, whether it worked, your browser's user-agent string, and the page you came from if you came from one. Your IP address is shortened first — the last quarter of it is thrown away before the line is saved, which is enough to count visits and not enough to pick you out. The files are deleted after 30 days and are never joined up with an order.
• Abuse limits. Checkout and mailing-list signup also hold your IP address in memory for a few minutes, to stop one machine hammering either of them. That copy is not written to disk and not linked to your order.
• How you found me, if you order. When you arrive, your browser notes down which link brought you — a word like "discord" or "dreamcast-talk", or just "direct" — and keeps it alongside your cart. If you place an order it goes to Stripe with it, so I can tell which channel actually reached people. It is a label, never part of what you pay, it contains nothing about you, and clearing your browser data clears it.
• Discord is Discord. If you join the server, their terms and their data handling apply, not mine.

Your cart, and the updater

The cart is not mine. It sits in your own browser's local storage and is never sent anywhere until you choose to check out. Clearing your browser data clears it, and I never see an abandoned one.

The firmware updater runs entirely in your browser, over Web Bluetooth, talking directly to the board in your hands. Firmware files are ordinary static downloads. Nothing about your board, your console or your update is reported back to me. If you want me to know a flash went wrong, you will have to tell me.

Having it removed

Email contact@alwaysagog.com and ask. I will take you off the mailing list immediately and delete what I can. Order records I may have to keep for as long as the law says, and I will tell you if that is the case rather than quietly doing nothing.
